Date and time of solar eclipse of 2024
First solar eclipse of the year 2024: The first solar eclipse of the year 2024 will take place on 8 April 2024. This solar eclipse will begin at 9:12 pm on April 8 and will end at 1:25 am Indian time. In this way, the total duration of the first solar eclipse of the year 2024 will be 4 hours 39 minutes.
Sutak period – The first solar eclipse of the year 2024 will be visible in South-West Europe, East Asia, Australia, Africa, North America, South America, Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, North Pole, South Pole. However, it will not be visible in India. For this reason, the Sutak period of this solar eclipse will not be valid in India.
Second solar eclipse of the year 2024: The second solar eclipse of the year 2024 will take place on the night of 2 and 3 October. According to Indian time, the second solar eclipse of the year 2024 will start at 9:13 pm on October 2 and will end at 3:17 pm. This way the total duration of the second solar eclipse will be 6 hours 4 minutes.
Sutak period – The second solar eclipse of the year 2024 will be visible in America, some parts of South America, Pacific and Atlantic Ocean, South Pole. The second solar eclipse of the year will also not be visible in India. Therefore, the Sutak period of this solar eclipse will also not be considered.
Date and time of the lunar eclipses in 2024
Now let’s talk about the lunar eclipse. The first lunar eclipse of the year 2024 will take place on 25 March 2024 and the second lunar eclipse will take place on 18 September 2024. It will be completely visible over western parts of Africa and Europe, South and eastern North America, will be seen rising over the rest of North America, and setting over the rest of Africa and Europe.
Like the solar eclipse, both these eclipses will also not be visible in India. That means their Sutak period will also not be valid here in India.
What to do and what not to do during the eclipse period?
Whenever there is Sutak period of eclipse then the Gods and Goddesses are not touched in the temple. During this period, food should not be consumed and it is also advised to control one’s anger. During this period, even touching the Tulsi plant is prohibited. You should also stay away from sharp and pointed objects.
