Ronaldo unselfishly assisted Bruno Fernandes for their third goal of the match after capitalising on some poor defending.

He could very easily have attempted to score himself but opted to turn provider for his former Manchester United teammate instead.

It’s a decision that has seen him make history as he now has the most assists on record since 1968 in the Euros with seven.

His achievement adds to his accolade of scoring the most goals in the history of the competition with 14 over six tournaments.

Ronaldo also holds the same records in the Champions League too, with the forward netting 140 and assisting a further 42.

The Al Nassr star is yet to find the back of the net at Euro 2024 but his latest efforts could help guide his country to their second title.

Bernardo Silva opened the scoring before a disastrous own-goal from Samet Akaydin gave Portugal a 2-0 lead at half-time.

Fernandes then put the result out of sight ten minutes into the second-half with the help of Ronaldo, sealing their second group win.
