UK tourists in Europe face a crackdown over a habit which is “not punishable by law”. German police have warned Brits abroad “don’t be a d***” if they’re attending Euro 2024 – and urged them NOT to sing the Ten German Bombers chant.
The FA warned: “We always encourage our fans to positively get behind the team. This includes supporting England in the right way, before, during and after matches, and we want to be great guests at the tournament.”
England face Serbia on Sunday in their first game of the campaign, taking on the Serbs in Gelsenkirchen. England, managed by Gareth Southgate, also face Denmark and Slovenia in their two remaining group games.

German police chief Peter Both urged England supporters not to do the same at the Euros. “Please don’t be a d***,” he told The Telegraph. “That’s what I would say to them: Don’t be a d***. If they sing a song like this, I can’t change it. It’s not punishable in Germany.
“I hope that all the other peaceful and law-abiding fans say to them: ‘Stop it.’ I know, and all people in Germany know, there is a long-lasting sporting rivalry between England and Germany. But it’s important for me to say it’s only a sporting one.
“Our countries have been, and remain, allies for over seven decades.” England are out in Germany alongside Scotland, who lost their opening game 5-1 to the Germans, the host nation, on Friday night in Munich as the month-long tournament kicked off.
Germany are among the favourites, alongside England. Other nations backed to win the tournament include France, as well as Portugal, who won the 2016 tournament. Other countries with decent odds include Spain, but Scotland have their backs up against the wall following a horror start in Munich last night.
