Choice Hotels International has promoted David Beers to become the company’s new CEO for the EMEA region.
Beers takes up his new role after more than 25 years with the company and replaces former CEO Jonathan Mills who left earlier this year. Beers moves from his previous position of head of international operations.
In a statement, Choice said Beers would focus on “strategic growth and financial performance” in the EMEA region, where the company currently has nearly 400 hotels in 17 countries across its Ascend Hotel Collection, Clarion, Comfort and Quality brands.
“Being one of the largest hotel companies in the world, and with an ever-increasing portfolio across EMEA, we are committed to continue delivering outstanding value to both our franchisees and guests,” said Beers in a statement.
Ricardo Losada Revol, Choice’s senior vice president and general manager, international, added: “David’s leadership, operational expertise and extensive experience with Choice Hotels International makes him the ideal person to lead Choice Hotels in EMEA as CEO. We are confident in his ability to lead our business in this region with dedication and strategic vision.
“This leadership transition marks a significant milestone for Choice Hotels in EMEA as we continue to expand our market presence, enhance our product offering and improve our franchisee and customer experience.”
