Must read

With the ever-growing digital fitness market its quite evident that wearable health-tracking devices, like smartwatches and fitness bands, are becoming more than just a fad. Especially millennials have adopted the digital fitness trend, using sports and health apps more than other age groups.

As per a report “Growth Opportunities in the Global Digital Fitness Market” by Research and Markets, connected devices are giving fitness buffs access to health data regularly, fueling a market that’s projected to be worth $27.4 billion by 2022.

ClassPass come to the Netherlands

Also recently, the consumer interests in gyms have declined due to many social factors, and the level of interest in services like ClassPass — an online, mobile service that offers fitness classes and health services for a nominal subscription fee — is well-positioned to grow. Further, recognised as one of Forbes’ Next Billion Dollar Startups, ClassPass leverages proprietary technology to dynamically merchandise and surface over a million fitness classes for a seamless booking experience that facilitates discovery.

While this kind of fitness subscription services are offering consumers more flexible options to pursue healthy lifestyles, ClassPass has now come to the Netherlands. To meet the shifting consumer attitudes on fitness services in Europe and also to make new members, the ‘Netflix of fitness’ is offering an exclusive promotion of a month of free classes in four cities across the country including Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht. Also, this launch marks the company’s first expansion into continental Europe, after the UK. Further, ClassPass will also be expanding in Germany and France very soon.

With over 15,000 partners worldwide, ClassPass is available across 15 countries including US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, China, India, UAE, England, Scotland and now, The Netherlands.

So, how does it work?

Partnerships in the Netherlands

Founded in 2013, ClassPass has partnered with hundreds of the Netherlands’ best studios. With its office in Amsterdam, the company will help studios optimise their booking process by filling the spots they wouldn’t usually fill through the application of proprietary technology.

Amongst them are well-known studios like Saints & Stars, PLTS, Underground, VELO Cycle Studio, K/C Move, Hot Flow Yoga as well as full-service gyms like HealthCity, premium Personal Training from 3Sixty5 and others, and access to boutique spaces such as Pilates 13, Svaha Yoga, Flink, Health City, White Door Studio, Freezlab, Kettlebell Outdoor, and many more.

The wide choice of studios allows members to choose from yoga, boxing, cycling, pilates, barre, CrossFit, dance or gyms, whenever they feel motivated, helping them access new activities, communities and experiences. ClassPass plans to add more gyms, as well as wellness studios to its partner network over the coming weeks, including massages, spa treatments and acupuncture.

“ClassPass believes that everyone should invest in their health and wellness. The Dutch undoubtedly already enjoy a very active lifestyle; they love to stay fit,” said ClassPass CEO Fritz Lanman. “But what we offer, a fitness membership at an accessible price point, gives unparalleled flexibility to the Dutch consumer thanks to our global credit system. Our local members are not tied into long yearly contracts and can adjust their subscription model every month, according to their budget. At the same time, ClassPass isn’t just a ‘partner’ for studios: we drive growth and profitability by unlocking new revenue streams.”

Advantages of working out with ClassPass

Membership pricing will be based on ClassPass’ highly successful global credits system, allowing for dynamically-priced classes and experiences. With this system, members are empowered with the flexibility to get the most out of their membership – with the ability to go for more classes each month by booking lower credit options or attend any of their favourite studios as much as they’d like at a higher credit rate. Furthermore, new members can benefit from an exclusive promotion of one month of free classes in four cities across the country.
