On Wednesday, Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, Nicolas Schmit, will present a new campaign of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) on “Safe and healthy work in the digital age”.

As digitalisation reshapes many workplaces, the campaign targets employers and other stakeholders to raise awareness that safety and health at work need to remain a top priority alongside technological advancement.

The campaign launch is part of the European Week for Safety and Health at Work, which features hundreds of awareness-raising events taking place across the EU and beyond.

Safe and healthy work in the digital age draws upon research conducted by EU-OSHA and will run for two years. It will explore five priority areas:

  • digital platform work
  • automation of tasks
  • remote and hybrid work
  • worker management through artificial intelligence (AI)
  • smart digital systems

Commissioner Nicolas Schmit and EU-OSHA Executive Director William Cockburn Salazar will present the campaign during a press point on Wednesday, 25 October, at 10:30 in the VIP corner of the Commission’s Berlaymont building in Brussels. The press point will also be livestreamed.
