The Council of Europe Series Co-production Development Award, worth €50,000, goes to the project “The adventures of a turbo-folk princess”
The co-production market Conecta FICTION & ENTERTAINMENT has hosted the first Council of Europe’s 2024 Series Co-Production Development Awards, which intends to foster creative collaborations in series co-production and empower independent producers.
The Award, worth €50,000, went to the following project:
“THE ADVENTURES OF A TURBO-FOLK PRINCESS”
Musical dramedy from North Macedonia
SCRIPTWRITERS : Andreyt Volkashin, Peter Vulchev
PRODUCTION COMPANIES : OXO PRODUCTION, EQUAL FILM
Synopsis : After she accidentally poisons her gangster fiancé, the talented singer Vaska, who is terrified of singing, runs away from home to participate at the biggest Balkan pop-folk song contest, mentored by the short-tempered prostitute Eboni.
The jury was composed of:

- Patricia ARPEA, Deputy Head of Business and Legal Affairs, Italian International Film, Italy
- Audrey KAMGA, Sales Manager, ARTE, France
The jury decided in favour of this title because “through its uniqueness, bravery, and freshness, gives a voice to underrepresented stories”.
