Summary
- Delta will serve 33 destinations in the three geographic areas in the peak summer.
- It plans up to 99 daily departures, the most ever.
- Multiple new and resuming routes helped its development.
Delta has never had as many flights to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). In August 2024, there will be between 95 and 99 daily departures (each way), the most on record. Examining schedules using Cirium data shows that they have risen by 3% compared to 2023 and 5% over 2019.
Delta’s summer 2024 EMEA network is now fully operational. It follows the launch of New York JFK-Munich, Minneapolis-Dublin, and New York JFK-Naples. The resumption of JFK-Shannon and Atlanta-Zurich helped, as did the start of increased flights from Atlanta to Venice (now 10 weekly).

It is the airline’s second attempt at daytime transatlantic service.
Welcome back, Atlanta-Zurich!
It took nearly five years, but the 4,076 nautical miles (7,549 km) route from the world’s busiest airport to Zurich is again part of the SkyTeam member’s network, joining Delta’s already-served New York JFK-Zurich service.

On May 31, Delta resumed Atlanta-Zurich flights, with 767-300ERs operating four times weekly until the final summer seasonal service leaves the US on September 8. It had a daily flight in 2019; frequencies may rise to that level again if the performance is proven.
Delta is the sixth airline with North America-Zurich routes, joining Air Canada, American, Edelweiss, SWISS, and United.
Zurichh is one of 19 EMEA destinations served non-stop by Delta from Atlanta in August. It is scheduled as follows, with all times local:
- Atlanta-Zurich: DL90, 17:05-08:05+1 (9h block time)
- Zurich-Atlanta: DL91, 10:10-14:35 (10h 25m)

Delta’s EMEA operation: August 2024
Analyzing the airline’s network shows that it will serve 33 destinations in EMEA (as usual, it may vary at other times of the year). Unlike last August, Naples and Shannon are now part of its route map.
Compared to 2019, Cape Town, Geneva, London Gatwick, Naples, and Stockholm Arlanda are now served, but Düsseldorf, Glasgow, Malaga, and Ponta Delgada have been cut.

EMEA flights are from 10 of Delta’s hubs and focus cities. In order of August departures and with the number of routes stated, they are New York JFK (29 routes), Atlanta (19), Detroit (seven), Boston (eight), Minneapolis (five), Seattle (three), Salt Lake City (three), Cincinnati (one), Los Angeles (one), and Portland (one). At a broader level, its operation is as stated in the table:
