One eyewitness to the violent attack said the victim was ‘insulted and hit’ before he was ‘spat on’ as Serbian fans scrapped with one football fan trying to board a train
Video footage captured the moment Serbian fans fought with a man after pushing him off a train in ugly scenes at Euro 2024.
Two men were seen shoving one victim clad in a green top on a train platform, who tried to fight back when a third person then also intervened, before the doors of the train closed. One attacker was wearing a Serbian T-shirt, the other had his national flag.
Dorian Bonzom witnessed the clash. He told NeedToKnow: “The man found a place on the train when there were already a lot of people. The Serbs did not want him to go up. He spent two minutes on the train where he was insulted and hit. As soon as the doors opened, they threw him out.”

He claims the men also spat at the other man. The ugly fight followed Serbia’s 1-1 draw with Slovenia yesterday in Munich, Germany.
Their next match is set to take place against Denmark on Tuesday, as they currently sit in fourth place in Group C, with the Three Lions top.
England beat Serbia 1-0 on Sunday 16 Jun and there were a total eight arrests after clashes between rival supporters in Gelsenkirchen. UEFA have also announced that Serbia have been fined for their behaviour that evening.
Violent clashes erupted between England and Serbian fans five hours before kick off last Sunday. Bottles, chairs and tables were hurled into the air by rival groups outside a bar in Gelsenkirchen, where dozens of Serbs were drinking. Some of the thugs had their faces covered during the clashes.
One man, who is understood to be English, was left with blood pouring from a head wound and needed medical attention. Dozens of riot police were on the scene within moments, wielding batons as they arrested seven Serbs.
A German police spokesman said: “There was a confrontation between Serbian and English football fans in the city of Gelsenkirchen. The two fan groups were separated. Seven people were taken into custody. There was also a complaint of grievous bodily harm. The background to this is still unclear.”
A spokesman for the UK Football Policing Unit added: “We are aware of an issue in Gelsenkirchen ahead of the England v Serbia match. Our German colleagues have made a number of arrests of what we currently believe to be Serbian supporters. At this stage we do not believe that any UK nationals have been arrested but enquiries are ongoing.
