Spain 1-1 Germany: Extra time

We’re back underway in Stuttgart!

There has been an appeal for a Germany penalty straight after kick-off but VAR doesn’t award it!

The ball comes off Marc Cucurella’s left arm but officials deem that his hand was in natural position next to his body!

Stuart Pearce live on talkSPORT: “I’ve seen them given like that…”

Team news!

Whilst extra time is ongoing here, the team news is in for the second quarter-final of the night!

Portugal are unchanged from the 0-0 draw with Slovenia.

Meanwhile, France have replaced the suspended Adrien Rabiot with Eduardo Camavinga.

Marcus Thuram, who has been poor, has been dropped for Randal Kolo Muani.

Shaw available

Luke Shaw will be available for selection for England’s Euro 2024 quarter-final clash against Switzerland.

Gareth Southgate has confirmed the news to talkSPORT in his press conference this evening.

He said: “Trippier has been outstanding for us. Luke Shaw is available, available to start. But Kieran has done a brilliant job for the team.

“He obviously doesn’t give us the natural balance of a natural left footer but his leadership, his talking is phenomenal and helps his team-mates to play the game. It’s a dying art – good talkers on the pitch, you can’t have enough of them.

“He has adapted and done a brilliant, brilliant job for us.”

Shaw has been unable to feature at the tournament so far after being ruled out with a hamstring injury in February.

But he could now help fill the position England have been struggling to find an effective replacement in.

Right before the whistle, Florian Wirtz fired agonisingly wide of the post for Germany!

And Dani Carvajal was booked a few minutes before, meaning he’ll miss the semi-final should Spain go through…
