Hero MotoCorp to foray into Europe with EV range next year: Details – Times of India

Hero MotoCorp, one of the world’s top two-wheeler manufacturer, has announced its entry into the European market with an electric scooter range next year. The company will introduce the VIDA V1 electric scooter in Spain, France, and the UK by mid-2024. Hero MotoCorp’s Executive Chairman, Pawan Munjal, expressed confidence that their electric vehicles would establish a strong presence in key European markets, echoing their success in other parts of the world. The company’s commitment to a clean and sustainable planet is reflected in its products and services.



Hero MotoCorp CEO Niranjan Gupta revealed plans for collaboration with reputable partners in the UK, Spain, and France to commence commercial operations in these regions by mid-2024. Initially, they will launch the electric scooter VIDA V1 in these countries, followed by the introduction of high-capacity premium ICE motorcycles and scooters. The company’s expertise in providing high-quality, affordable personal mobility solutions makes them optimistic about a positive reception across different regions.

The VIDA V1 will be the first Hero MotoCorp product to enter multiple European markets, starting with Spain and France. Simultaneously, operations will begin in the United Kingdom, slated for mid-2024. The company also disclosed its identification of distributors for each of these countries, with Motogb as the distributor in the UK, GD France in France, and Noria Motos, a subsidiary of the Onex group, in Spain.

At the EICMA motor show, Hero MotoCorp introduced two new internal combustion engine (ICE) scooters, the Xoom 125R and the Xoom 160, which will soon be available in various regions. They also unveiled the VIDA V1 Pro, designed for the European and UK markets. The VIDA V1 represents the company’s inaugural e-scooter, launched under the emerging mobility brand VIDA, introduced in October 2022. These electric scooters are manufactured at the company’s plant in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh.

Moreover, Hero MotoCorp presented an extensive portfolio of high-capacity premium motorcycles, including the Concept 2.5R XTunt, a new category for the company. They also unveiled two innovative EV concepts, the Lynx and Acro, focusing on urban mobility, developed at their European R&D hub near Munich, the Tech Center Germany.
