A city in Ireland has been named one of the best in Europe for its free attractions. Although Dublin is the tourist hotspot in Ireland, a city on the west coast of the country might be better for those traveling on a budget.
Galway City, located along the Wild Atlantic Way, has been named the fifth-best destination in Europe for its free-entry attractions. Finance experts at CashNetUSA conducted a study to find the best places to go in Europe for free things to do.
They analyzed traveler reviews for free attractions at nearly 1,000 of the world’s most popular destinations. Galway was the only Irish destination to appear on the list.
Considering the number of free attractions and their ratings, Galway received a score of 76.92 percent. There were a number of attractions in and around Galway that contributed to this high score.
The study examined the Wild Atlantic Way, which has a five-star rating based on 2801 reviews. They also looked at Connemara National Park, which has a rating of 4.5 stars based on 3898 reviews.
Other attractions that were considered were Quay Street in Galway City, Salthill Promenade, and Galway Cathedral. The small Irish city ranked above some impressive competition from around Europe.

However, taking the top spot on the list of best places in Europe for its free attra actions is Ayia Napa in Cyprus. Following that on the list is Belgrade in Serbia, Bath in the United Kingdom, and Minsk in Belarus.
On the top ten list, Galway ranked higher than Poznan and Gdansk in Poland, Liverpool in the United Kingdom, Graz in Austria, and Glasgow in Scotland.
