If you’re feeling a bit of travel envy scrolling through your social media feeds, don’t worry – TikTok user @emsbudgettravel has some budget-friendly advice for you.

She’s shared that globetrotting doesn’t always have to break the bank, revealing that one of her “favourite” destinations cost her less than £200 to visit.

Em has hailed Bosnia and Herzegovina as one of Europe’s most “underrated countries”.

She captioned her minute-long video: “My favourite country of 2024 and one of the cheapest and most underrated in Europe! Perfect for a budget couples holiday or girls’ trip.”

Having visited nine countries already this year, Em declared Bosnia and Herzegovina as her top pick. She described it as a “hidden gem”, highlighting that budget airline Ryanair has recently started offering affordable flights there.

During her four-day stay, Em spent a total of £158.44 – an impressively low sum that covered “flights, accommodation, food, activities, transport – literally everything”.

She confirmed the country certainly lives up to its reputation as one of the “cheapest countries to visit in Europe”. Em stayed in Sarajevo, the capital city, which she described as “beautiful” and said it “felt really safe”.

According to her, the locals were “very friendly” and the country boasts “stunning scenery”, including “mountains, rivers, lakes and waterfalls”. She also recommended a visit to Mostar, a two-hour drive from Sarajevo, describing it as “magical” and “the perfect place to explore for hours”.
