Must read

A new airline has launched at Birmingham Airport with flights to Europe. Lufthansa City Airlines, an offshoot of Lufthansa Airlines, chose Birmingham Airport to launch its first ever flight, with a brand new flight schedule arriving in time for the summer holidays.

Lufthansa City Airlines is a lower cost option for those wanting to fly to Germany, and will initially run flights between BHX and Munich. The airline has said following its launch this week, there will be potential to expand its Birmingham Airport offering, including to destinations such as Frankfurt.

Lufthansa City’s first BHX flight was a A320NEO aircraft, said to be 20 percent more fuel efficient than previous models. BHX bosses said Lufthansa City Airlines’ partnership with the airport strengthens the Lufthansa brand on the already popular service from Birmingham to Munich.
