After an explosion and fire at an apartment building in France, 3 people are reportedly dead. The apartment was located on the 8th floor of the building on the 11th arrondissement. There were many police cars and emergency vehicles on scene.
According to officials, one of the deceased was a guy who attempted to flee the fire by falling from a cliff. Despite the firemen’ futile efforts, he passed away immediately.
The bodies of the other two were discovered within the residence. The victims are currently being welcomed at the Le Nouveau Carillon bar, located at the top of rue de Charonne.
Numerous explosions have plagued the French city throughout the years, including a possible gas leak in 2023 that left three people dead and numerous more wounded. This is the third time in a short period of time that an explosion within a structure has struck the capital, killing many people. Four persons lost their life in an explosion that occurred on January 12, 2019, on rue de Trévise.
“The neighbors do not understand what could have triggered this explosion, because there is no gas in the building,” the deputy mayor of the 11th arrondissement, Luc Lebon, told Le Parisien. According to Paris councilor and 11th arrondissement security delegate Nour Durand-Raucher who spoke to La Parisien, this explosion struck a structure in a private park.
