JULY 16 PATRICK BEVERLEY NEEDS A MAP Patrick Beverley made a special announcement via the Pat Bev podcast’s X (formerly known as Twitter) account. After a controversial end to his Milwaukee Bucks tenure, the NBA universe left the hot-tempered point guard in free agency.
Thankfully for Beverley, a team in the Middle East found a use for his “talents.” Beverley said, “They gave me everything I asked for… I couldn’t refuse.”
The “lucky” team to sign Beverley is Hapoel Tel Aviv BC, an Israeli professional basketball club. However, Beverley may need to fix his passport, as the Pat Bev podcast X account claimed he was heading to Europe.
Maybe the person who posted such a geographically wrong tweet was merely an intern. Either way, it’s possible Beverley acted accordingly.
JULY 16 CAITLIN GOES NASCAR The Stewart-Haas Racing team in NASCAR has revealed a Caitlin Clark-themed look for the upcoming race in Indy.
The team, co-owned by former NASCAR driver Tony Stewart and Haas Automation founder Gene Haas, will have NASCAR driver Josh Berry behind the wheel …
And the Indiana Fever rookie everywhere else.
It’s brilliant, really. In Indy. Want attention? Be all about Clark!
JULY 12 CLARK AWARDS Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark won two awards at the 2024 ESPYs.
Clark was named “Best College Athlete” after her historic final year with the Iowa Hawkeyes, during which she averaged 31.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 8.9 assists while leading the team to the NCAA Finals.
Additionally, the big moment when she broke Pete Maravich’s NCAA all-time scoring record for both men and women, earned her the “Best Record-Breaking Performance” award.
JULY 11 TNT OR NOTHING: Unless Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav matches the recent TV contract that NBC, Amazon, and ESPN agreed to, then Turner Sports will lose the NBA. Charles Barkley is either the most honest negotiator or a sneakily cunning businessman who understands his ultimate leverage.
Barkley has been adamant about not wanting to break up the Inside the NBA crew, regardless of the financial compensation. In a recent interview, he expressed why he wouldn’t want to work for another network.
