Qantas adds AA interline flights to NDC portal

Must read

Qantas has integrated interline flights with American Airlines into its dedicated New Distribution Capability (NDC) platform.

The Australian carrier said travel management companies and travel agencies can now access “a wider choice of destinations” via the Qantas Distribution Platform, which launched in March.

American Airlines is the first interline partner to appear on the platform, however content is limited as ancillaries are only available for booking segments operated or managed by Qantas.

When shopping for content via the platform, Qantas-operated and marketed flights will be given preference over interline options. Interline flights may be included as additional journey options, according to the carrier.

Qantas on its website confirmed TMCs can earn base commission on interline flights booked via the portal and that members of its frequent flyer loyalty programme will be able to earn points on flights booked with eligible oneworld and partner airlines.

The carrier’s NDC platform is currently available in 60 countries – including 27 in Europe, such as France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the UK – with plans to “further expand the network of destinations, flight options and carriers available”, including adding more content interline partners, Qantas said.
