Train booking platform Rail Europe has inked a deal with Spanish high-speed rail operator iryo to integrate the latter’s content into its portfolio.
The integration with go live on 15 April and allow platform users to book travel across iryo’s high-speed network, which includes services to Madrid, Zaragoza, Barcelona, Tarragona, Valencia, Cuenca, Alicante, Albacete, Sevilla, Córdoba and Málaga.
Real-time availability of fares and ticketing options will also be displayed and travellers can expect a streamlined booking process, according to Rail Europe, which also provides content from 200 rail providers such as SNCF, Eurostar, Trenitalia, Deutsche Bahn, Renfe and UK train operators.
Rail Europe CEO and executive chairman, Björn Bender, said: “This collaboration underscores our commitment to providing our customers with the most convenient and comprehensive travel solutions to seamlessly travel by train across Europe.”
Iryo CEO and general manager Simone Gorini said the partnership will “increase our reach” across both B2C and B2B segments.
Iryo, jointly owned by Italian state-owned rail company Trenitalia, Spanish regional airline Air Nostrum and Spanish infrastructure investment fund Globalvia, began operations in 2022 with a fleet of 20 new trains and is the country’s largest private high-speed rail operator by number of frequencies and fleet volume.
