Highfield Princess will skip the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint and will run instead in the Group 1 Hong Kong Sprint on Dec. 10, Racing Post reported Wednesday.

The France-bred, 6-year-old mare qualified for the Turf Sprint with a win in the Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp (G1) on Oct. 1 despite a poor draw. Connections considered shipping her to Santa Anita for the five-furlong Turf Sprint before opting instead for the Hong Kong Sprint at six furlongs, according to the report.

Highfield Princess, trained by John Quinn, also won the King George Qatar Stakes (G2) in August and has a record of 7: 2-3-1 this year.

Last year, she had three Group 1 stakes ahead of the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at Keeneland, where she finished fourth after being bumped early. That was her only U.S. start.

Owned and bred by Trainers House Enterprises, Highfield Princess has a career record of 38: 14-8-6 and earnings of $2,240,586.
