Uber has announced the launch of water-based options across several major European cities. This summer, the ride-hailing giant will introduce a fleet of limo boats and a free sightseeing cruise in Paris. The aim is to offer tourists and locals a convenient way to navigate some of the continent’s most iconic waterways. Uber’s expansion into water transportation kicks off with the introduction of Uber Cruise in Paris.
From July 12 to August 3, visitors and residents can enjoy a complimentary one-hour cruise along the Seine. This all-electric boat tour offers views of landmarks such as Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower while enjoying a complimentary glass of wine. The initiative is perfectly timed to coincide with the 2024 Summer Olympics. It offers a picturesque and hassle-free way to see the sights even with the expected flood of visitors.
Where In Europe Can You Enjoy Uber Boats?
In addition to Paris, Uber is rolling out its innovative water transport services in Venice, Mykonos, Athens, Corfu, Santorini, and Ibiza. In Venice, where traditional gondolas have long been a staple, Uber’s “Limo Boats” will offer a modern alternative. These on-demand boats, which can accommodate up to six passengers, are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, with prices starting at $130 per trip.
Meanwhile, in Ibiza, Uber is launching a luxurious yacht service. For $1,723, up to eight passengers can enjoy an eight-hour journey around the island aboard a Sunseeker yacht. The ride includes a personal skipper, complimentary champagne, and locally sourced snacks. Additionally, the yacht service, which requires booking, will offer transfers from hotels to the marina.
Anabel Diaz, Uber’s Vice President of EMEA Mobility, expressed enthusiasm about the new services: “Whether it’s sailing around Ibiza in your own private yacht or experiencing the Venetian Lagoon by boat, we’re thrilled to add some Uber magic to our customers’ holidays this summer.”
