NEW DELHI: According to Russian media reports on Sunday, citing a well-known Russian producer, American rapper Kanye West has arrived in Moscow.
Due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which has led to significant sanctions imposed by the US and Europe on Moscow, as well as travel restrictions, most Western artists have refrained from performing in Russia.
“Kanye West is already in Moscow! This is great news, he is staying in the heart of the capital,” producer Yana Rudkovskaya was quoted by the state TASS news agency as saying on social media.
West, who has caused controversy in the United States with his political statements and was recently accused of praising Adolf Hitler, has previously expressed admiration for President Vladimir Putin.
Rudkovskaya’s announcement followed rumors last month that West would perform a concert in Moscow. However, Luzhniki Stadium, where he was rumored to perform, informed state media that they do not have any information about potential concerts by the renowned rapper.
