Vietnamese Women's Forum in Europe aids fire-affected traders in Poland

Warsaw (VNA) – Members of the Vietnamese Women’s Forum in Europe have organised a fundraising campaign to support small Vietnamese traders heavily impacted by the fire at the 44 Marywilska trade centre in Warsaw which caused significant property damage.

At an event in Warsaw on June 16, Trinh Thi Mui, Vice President of the forum and Chairwoman of the Vietnamese Women’s Union in Germany, handed over a donation of 7,100 EUR (over 7,590 USD) to President of the Vietnamese Association in Poland Tran Anh Tuan and several members of the Vietnamese community in Poland.

The fundraising call was made on the morning of May 12 when members of the forum were participating in the Global Summit of Women in Madrid, Mui said.

Tuan expressed deep gratitude and pledged to ensure the entire donated amount reaches those in need.

On May 12, a fire broke out at the shopping centre on Warsaw’s Marywilska street. There was no casualty but almost all property was destroyed. The facility had about 1,400 stores, of which one-third were run by Vietnamese people./.
