European kingpins Real Madrid are out to clinch a record-extending 15th Champions League title on Saturday when they face a Borussia Dortmund side that last lifted the crown in 1997
Real Madrid are steep favourites heading into Saturday’s Champions League crescendo against German juggernaut Borussia Dortmund.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men have already been crowned kings of La Liga for the third time in five seasons and are faced with a major opportunity to round off this campaign with a majestic double. However, Edin Terzic & Co. will be out to upset the equilibrium at Wembley, which just so happened to host their last Champions League final appearance in 2013.
The Black and Yellows have had to battle through this season’s Group of Death before sending the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid out of the knockout stages. Meanwhile, Los Blancos have booted reigning champions Manchester City from their throne and ousted three other German outfits in Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Union Berlin.
Real talisman Jude Bellingham will be desperate to impress against his old side in familiar territory, while club icon Marco Reus signs off his Dortmund career on the biggest stage possible. And Mirror Sport provides the vital streaming information to ensure fans won’t miss a minute of the biggest fixture in the club calendar.
What time does the final kick-off?
The action is due to get underway in London at 8pm BST, which has yet again been the go-to time for Europe’s evening kick-offs this campaign. Wembley will host a sell-out crowd on Saturday, though Dortmund will hope the end result is different to their last-gasp 2-1 defeat at Bayern’s hands 11 years ago.
The final will also feature a brief opening ceremony performance from rock and soul legend Lenny Kravitz, whose newest album, Blue Electric Light, was released earlier in May. Kravitz’s display is scheduled to begin at 7.45pm BST, shortly before the real action takes centre stage.
Where can I watch the match?
The final will be broadcast live on TNT Sports 1 but will also be available for non-subscribers to stream on the Discovery+ website. Viewers need only create a free account in order to be eligible to watch the match, so make sure to get your credentials in order before kick-off.
This is the first final since 2016 that won’t be streamed live via YouTube, which has become a useful tradition for the UK’s online spectators. However, fans are still fortunate to have a free option at their fingertips as two of Europe’s most exciting outfits meet for the first time since 2017.
