The month of May is full of celestial events and this is the correct time for the stargazers to witness several events during this period so it is the time to pick your binoculars or telescope and get ready to move out in search of the dark sky.

This month people are going to get the opportunities to watch an amazing celestial events starting from flower moon, Jupiter eclipse, a special meteor shower and many others. Here, we are going to mention these special astronomical events, which you can witness this month so let’s check out :-

1. Flower Moon
Flower moon can be seen during the Moon Eclipse, which is going to occur on May 5, 2023. After the moon rise, people are going to witness a beautiful moon rise towards east direction. It will not appear as the blood moon lunar eclipse. Sky gazers can expect a slight shadow cast. The moon eclipse will be visible in Africa, Asia, Australia and the parts of Europe. It will not be a total eclipse but penumbral lunar eclipse. So stargazer should not miss this opportunity to watch the full flower moon.

2. Brightest Venus

As we all know that recently Venus was seen with its full brightness during the alignment of 5 planets and it is one of those planets which always shines bright. But this is to be noted that in the month of May, Venus is going to reach to the highest point where it will shine even brighter. 3. Jupiter Eclipse

No matter where you are on this planet, you need to make a note of that you can witness this Jupiter Eclipse towards east direction when the crescent moon will almost touch the Jupiter planet on May 17, 2023. 4. Venus and a Crescent Moon

As we all know the Venus is one of the closest to the Earth, this summer on May 22, and 23 Venus is going to sink in the coming weeks and months. 5. Eta – Aquarid Meteor Shower

The Eta Aquarids is one of two meteor showers created by debris from Comet Halley. The Earth passes through Halley’s path around the Sun a second time in October. Comet Halley takes around 76 years to make a complete revolution around the Sun. The next time, it will be visible from earth in 2061.

It is to be noted that an Eta – Aquarid meteor shower can deliver up to 30 shooting starts per hour. As we all know that on May 5 and 6, 2023, it will be full moon in the sky so you don’t need any special equipment or a lot of skills to view a meteor shower and all you really need is a clear sky.
