England have secured their place in the Euro 2024 final.

The Three Lions triumphed over the Netherlands with a thrilling 2-1 victory on Wednesday, paving their way to Sunday’s final. Ollie Watkins scored the decisive goal in the last minute, defeating Ronald Koeman’s team.

When was the last time England reached the European Championship final?

The last time England made it to the Euros final was in 2021. Unfortunately, the Three Lions were defeated by Italy at Wembley Stadium during a tense penalty shootout.

After a 1-1 draw following extra-time, England faced the dreaded penalty shootout, where they lost 3-2. Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka all missed their penalties.

No team has ever lost consecutive EURO finals; only Yugoslavia (1960, 1968) have been runners-up twice without winning the trophy. The Euro 2020 final marked the team’s first final in 55 years.
