Gareth Southgate‘s side have struggled so far at Euro 2024, with fortunate draws and individual brilliance carrying the country.
But they are still getting the job done – and a perfect penalty performance against the Swiss saw them progress into the last four.

England will take on the Netherlands in the semi-finals after Ronald Koeman’s men fought back from 1-0 down to win 2-1 against Turkey.
Two second half goals in a six-minute spell have seen Holland reach the last four of the European Championship in 16 years.
That game will take place in Dortmund at 8pm on Wednesday, July 10.
The Three Lions topped Group C despite drawing two of their three games, which put them on the favourable side of the knockout draw.
As a result, England avoided potential clashes with European heavyweights France and Spain – with it now only possible to play one of them in an eventual final.
But they will face their toughest possible opponents in the Netherlands, who are currently ranked No. 7 in the world.
The Dutch, like England, have struggled at Euro 2024 and finished third in Group D behind Austria and France.
But Virgil van Dijk‘s Oranje saw off Romania with ease in the last 16, before showing their resilience in fending off Turkey.
Samet Akaydin broke the deadlock in the 35th minute, with Stefan de Vrij levelling the game up in the 70th minute, with Mert Muldur scoring an own goal shortly later.
