Just a three-hour direct flight from the UK there is a ‘enhancing’ holiday destination with towering mountains, beautiful beaches, clear seas, and quaint towns. Visitors have been left stunned by the country’s offerings
A woman has described a European hidden gem as the “world’s most beautiful place” after being stunned by what she found on a recent trip.
Approximately a three-hour flight from the UK is a stunning spot for hiking, exploring quaint towns, admiring gorgeous beaches and mountains – you’ll find them all in Montenegro. The beautiful spot may be small and a fairly new country – becoming independent in 2006 – but tourists say it is “underrated” and certainly a location worth holidaying in. If you don’t know, the country is sandwiched between Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia, Albania, and Herzegovina.
After spending some time in Kotor Bay, Montenegro, Mirror reporter Susanna Galton described the spot as an “enchanting and relatively undiscovered” place that made them want to return.
The country filled with good-value hotels as well as The Splendid Conference and Spa Resort in Becici – named after the James Bond film. The Splendid, James Bond geeks will tell you, is the name of the imposing Baroque hotel in Casino Royale where 007 takes on the terrorist financier Chiffre in a nail-biting poker game. Also for those who love glamour and luxury, is at Tivat is Porto Montenegro – a multimillion-pound marina on the Bay of Kotor where wealthy Russian holidaymakers and Europe’s yachting show off their super-vessels.
One young woman named Jessica shared her experience on TikTok following a recent visit. She spent much of her time by the water – dining at coast-side eateries and admiring the views. She enjoyed a number of coffees, fresh bread, as well as an Aperol Spritz. Some of the most popular beach spots include the Bay of Kotor, Tivat, Kotor, Bar, Ulcinj, and Stari Bar.
Plus she also took a boat side on the glistening and clear water of Adriatic Sea, while admiring the towering mountains in the clear blue sky. For Montenegrins like Yanko, the mountains are what makes their country so special.
She had an outstanding view from her Airbnb and has described the spot as the “world’s most beautiful place”. She also spent some time in the quaint small towns, admiring the impressive architectural buildings.
